I went to Onomichi yesterday to have a picnic under the cherry blossoms at Senkoji. It was amazing! The trees were in full bloom, and there were petals swirling everywhere.
We went at about 4 pm, which was a little late - it started to get dark soon after, and with the dark came cold weather. It was also windy, so I was quite cold by the time we got back to the station.
However, the trees made up for the chill. It was really amazing to see them all - there are so many on the mountain! We sat under a group there and ate a lunch of sushi, chicken, and rice. We even fed a random dog that came by to be friends! We had a great time - it is a shame that the flowers will soon be gone.
I am already looking forward to going next year.
