サマースクール/竹原校

皆さん、毎日、うなるような暑さですね。サマースクールが始まりました。

参加者の皆さん、暑さに負けない元気さで、サマースクールを盛り上げて下さっています！

今年は、竹原校では理科がメインになっています！

昨日は、化学反応を利用してロックキャンディとソーダを作りました。そして、口ではなく、これも化学反応の力を用いてペットボトルの中でガスを作って、風船をふくらませました。楽しかったですね♪

今日は、温暖化について学び、自分の温度計を作りました。その後、スーパーボール作りで、皆さん、代興奮！！！

８月４日（月）は、液体を使っての工作や地震観測計を作るレッスンがあります！

 

BBQ!

Hello everyone!

Last week we had our annual K&F Bar-be-que!  The weather wasn't great, but we still had a ton of fun! We all got together at Matoba Beach in Takehara, and we had a good time cooking lunch and swimming in the ocean.  

The water was very cold at first, but it was fine once you got in.  I had a great time swimming and talking with my students and their parents outside of class, which is something that I don't get the chance to do very much.  

It started to rain after lunch so we had to end a little early, and we didn't really get to do our planned boat race, but it was still great fun!  I even got to go swimming while it was raining, which is something I really like to do.  I hope everyone can join us next year!

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone,

I'm Gillian Bell. I'm new to K&F and can't wait to become friends with all of you. I come from a small town called Kooralbyn in South East Queensland, Australia. It's located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

This is the view from my house.

It's a very peaceful place with a lot of wildlife such as kangaroos, possums, and a lot of birds. My favourite bird is the kookaburra. This is a photo of one that we would feed.

There are 6 people in my family, two of them are Chinese! My mother is a shop assistant, my Father is a Japanese language teacher at the local high school, my older brother and sister-in-law are security guards at Brisbane airport, and my younger brother is a university student.

Younger brother, Older brother, Mother, me, Sister-in-law, and Father.

In my free time I like to read novels, spend time with friend and do various outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling.

I'm enjoying living in Japan and learning about the history and culture. I really like sightseeing and visiting shrines and temples. I hope to be able to experience much more of the Japanese culture and lifestyle in the coming years.

テキスト修了パーティー

今日は、テキスト修了パーティーがありました♪♪♪

唯一、教室でお友達とお菓子を食べても良いウキウキワクワクな日です。

皆で持ち寄ったお菓子を分け合って、先生と楽しいゲームをして、映画を観て・・・！

来週から、新しいテキストを使って、新しいことを学んでいきます！英語が読めるようになってきて、自信がつき、『読めるから楽しい！』と、楽しさが増す頃です。また一緒に頑張っていこうね！

保護者の皆様、これからもお家でのサポート、宜しくお願いします！

   

スタッフ研修日

昨日６月１８日（水）は、竹原・三原両校でお休みをいただき、スタッフ研修会を行いました。
定期的に行われる研修会では、両校の全スタッフが集まって、イベントについてや、レッスン内容の向上についてなど、皆様に安心して学んでいただけるような学校を運営できるようスタッフでの意見交換や話し合いをしています。

今回の研修会では、主に来月７月６日（日）に行われるＢＢＱイベントに向けての打ち合わせをしました！
皆さんに楽しんでいただけるイベントになるよう、スタッフ一同力を合わせて頑張っています！

The K&F Summer BBQ - boat race!

Hello, Scott here. How is everyone?

Well, I think it's safe to say that summer is well and truly upon us! And summer means only one thing here at K&F, and that's the annual K&F Summer BBQ! This year we are trying something a little different from previous years. Of course, we will have great food as always, but this time there won't be any sandcastle making competition. Instead, teams will be battling it out to design and race their very own speed boats!

Teams will be given some basic materials - pet bottles, a styrofoam board, tape - and any items they bring along with them. They will then have an hour to design the boats in their teams. Teams will be awarded points for design, teamwork and originality. Then comes the main event, the race! One team member will be chosen to pull the boat from the beach to the jetty. Teams will then receive points depending on where they finish. All points will then be added together and an overall winner decided. But be warned, if things fall off the boat while racing, teams will lose points!

All sounds very exciting, right? Well make sure you don't miss it and get yourselves down to Matoba beach on July 6th from 11:00am.

こんにちは、スコットです。皆さんお元気ですか？

毎日少しづつ暑くなっていき、夏本番も間近ですね！Ｋ＆Ｆでの夏といえば、毎年恒例のイベント、BBQがあります。今年もおいしいハンバーガーとホットドッグを準備していますのでお楽しみに！今回のBBQでは、今までの砂のお城作りとは少し気分を変えて、ボートレースを企画しています。今回はボートレースについて少し説明させてください。

各チームには、ボートの基本的な材料となるペットボトル、スチロール製の板、テープが用意されます。そこに各自で持ち寄っていただくシールやおもちゃ等で世界にたった一つのオリジナルボートを作っていただきます。各チームのデザインや、チームワークなども採点の基準となりますよ！出来上がったボートは各チーム代表者が堤防から引っ張って競争します。レース結果も得点に加算されますが、途中でボートの飾りが取れてしまったら減点されてしまいます。
